Confidants & Safe Sporting
The most important thing for USBF is that you feel safe and welcome on the field and at the club. Therefore, we have a safe sporting climate policy. We expect all members to adhere to the policy. This is how we create a safe sporting environment for everyone.
The safe sporting climate takes into account:
- Physical safety both on and around the court. But also in the sports café, at our local pub, and during activities and events.
- Social safety related to the association's culture. This includes the freedom to say what you want to say, to be who you are, not having to do something under duress and to feel welcome within the association.
To read the full policy and code of conduct, read the safe sporting climate policy (English) or beleid veilig sportklimaat (Dutch).
Confidants (Confidential contact persons)
Are you experiencing something that you would like to talk to someone about? We have appointed confidants at USBF. These persons have a 100% confidentiality obligation to you. They do not have any obligations towards the board of the association. You can approach them in confidence about your experiences and feelings both at and outside of USBF.
Aramiz Ramírez Montero

"Hey everyone!
My name is Aramiz, and this year I’ll be your confidant. I’m 25 years old and currently studying Language and Culture Studies. Some of my hobbies include reading, playing guitar, boxing… and of course, basketball! 🏀
If anything unpleasant comes up at USBF, please feel free to reach out. This could be anything — a general issue within USBF, a conflict with the board, or something more personal. I’ll always be happy to listen and help wherever I can."

"Hello USBF’ers,
My name is Luciel, I am 24 years old and I am doing a master in Intercultural Communication. I grew up in Eindhoven and even though I left this city some years ago I can still provide you with some Brabantse Gezelligheid. When I was 18 years old I moved to the beautiful city of Maastricht where I studied Hotel Management. During this study I had the opportunity to do an internship in Málaga and an exchange in Chile. Therefore I can speak Spanish fluently 🙂
Outside of playing basketball, I love spending my free time with friends, traveling, doing sports, going to festivals, and being creative— whether that is trying new recipes in the kitchen or expressing myself through drawing and painting. To stay connected with my love for Spain and Latin America, I started taking Salsa and Bachata classes last year at U Dance.
As a confidant I am approachable to support you with any worries you may have. No matter if it is within USBF or outside of USBF I will always be open to listen to you without judgement. But also if nothing is wrong and you just want a chat, you’re more than welcome!"
Sportraad Utrecht
Would you rather talk to someone outside the club? The sports council (Sportraad Utrecht) has two NOC-NSF trained confidentiality persons that you can reach out to. You can reach out to them at https://sportraadutrecht.nl/vertrouwenscontactpersonen/.
Although the page is available only in Dutch, the confidants of the Sportraad can also be contacted in English.
